— New York Daily News (@NYDailyNews) November 18, 2015A New York City tabloid is continuing its battle with the National Rifle Association, calling NRA honcho Wayne LaPierre “Jihadi Wayne” on the cover of Monday morning’s edition for opposing sensible gun laws that could prevent terrorists from purchasing high-powered weapons. The New York Daily News screaming headline “Nowhere To Hide, Jihadhi Wayne” on Monday morning comes on the heels of a similar headline last Wednesday reading: “NRA’s Sick Jihad.”…. At issue is the NRA using their overwhelming influence with lawmakers to block a law that would ban anyone on the terrorist watch list from purchasing a gun. The bill, known as the Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act, was proposed in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris that left 129 people in Paris dead and hundreds more injured. Gun control advocates say that a legal loophole allows suspects on the terrorist watch list to purchase guns while the same list prevents them from flying on U.S. airlines. The bill was originally proposed in 2007, but has been blocked by conservative lawmakers who are heavily backed by the NRA.
No reasonable person would accuse the New York Daily News of being the spear tip of the Liberal Media. To newspapers what Fox News Channel is to cable news, NYDN has seldom met a Liberal concern it couldn’t ridicule. For the editorial board of what’s arguably the most aggressively Conservative newspaper in America to declare war on the NRA is surprising but quite gratifying. If nothing else, it demonstrates that decency and humanity aren’t qualities completely absent on the Far Right.
The idea that anyone could be OK with a legal environment that doesn’t proscribe the sale of weaponry to those on the terror watch list is every bit as offensive as it is difficult to imagine. This is the NRA we’re talking about, though; the organization originally founded to promote gun safety has devolved into the official mouthpiece for Guns uber Alles and through it the unofficial sponsor of domestic terrorism.
When it comes to the war on terrorism, the NRA seemss quite content to enable the arming of both sides…because why not? If gun manufacturers can profit off random, senseless violence…well, that’s the American Way, no?

This is not the first time the tabloid has gone after the NRA and its leader LaPierre — whom they have labeled a ‘gun nut.”
Following the tragic shooting in Sandy Hook that took the lives of 26 — 20 of them children in the first grade — the paper blasted the organization with a headline reading: “Craziest Man on Earth: Just 90 minutes after moment of silence for Newtown victims, vile nut blames everyone and everything EXCEPT the GUNS.”
Between 2004-2014, more than 2000 suspects on the U.S. government’s terror watch list were able to LEGALLY purchase guns. Think about that for a moment. While our politicians and media are focused on instilling the fear of terrorism in the American Sheeple, terrorists are legally arming themselves…with the full faith and credit of the NRA behind it. If there was ever any doubt as to where the NRA’s true allegiance lies, this statistic should remove any ambiguity.
There’s simply no way for Wayne LaPierre and his merry band of moral misfits to sugarcoat their devotion to guns over any and all other considerations. When you’re slavish committed to making guns easier to obtain than mental health care, even at the expense of possibly enabling terrorists, you’ve most certainly become a terrorist. This truth becomes even more hideous when you consider that the vast majority of fatal attacks on U.S. soil are carried out by White supremacists, NOT wild-eyed Islamofascists terrorists.
Simply put, the NRA is in the business of enabling random sense violence and bloodshed…and business is very, very good.
