Today on "How to Build a Straw Man That Will Withstands the Stiff Winds of Liberalism"

News host Andrea Tantaros blasted liberals on Monday for “indicting an entire religion” of “Christian white Republicans” following last week’s domestic terror attacks on a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado…. “I think this was pretty predictable,” Tantaros said. “You saw on Twitter a lot of people rushing to judgement. The same people who hesitate using the phrase Islamic terrorism were very quick to use the term ‘Christian’.”…. Fox Business host Charles Paying agreed, asserting that GOP politicians had only been saying that taxpayer money should not be used for abortion “particularly when they’re talking about selling baby parts.”…. According to Payne, it was condemnation by Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders that had “stoked these flames and anger.”…. “And it was quite a leap… to point to a shooting and somehow link that to women not being able to get abortions,” Tantaros opined. “They had not released information and people were already indicting an entire religion, Christian white Republican, before we even got details.”…. Fox News contributor Rachel Campos-Duffy argued that liberals were trying to tie the attacks to the anti-abortion movement as a plot to derail upcoming congressional hearings on Planned Parenthood.

In the annals of propaganda, disinformation, and deflection of truth, this attempt to blame the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood shooting on…wait for it…Liberals stands as a monument to perfecting the art of projection and assuming victimhood.

It fascinates me that Andrea Tantaros, that paragon of reasoned, rational debate and discussion, sees no irony in blaming Liberals for “indicting Christians” for the attack. This from the same woman who, like so many of her fellow Right-wing ideologues, has NO problem indicting Islam for terrorism. The fact that the vast majority of terrorist attacks carried out on American soil are perpetrated by Conservative White Christian males is ignored…because it’s horribly inconvenient to the approved and preferred Right-wing narrative. I mean, c’mon, man…ANY red-blooded, patriotic American will tell you that White people can’t be terrorists. Christians are filled with the love of Jesus Christ, which is inimical to random, senseless political violence and bloodshed. Good God-fearing Conservative White folk like Robert Lewis Dear aren’t terrorists, just disturbed men with anger control issues.

Tantaros added that “the left” wanted to stop all talk about “the illegal harvesting of baby parts on the off chance that some lunatic out there might hear that rhetoric and decide to go shoot up a clinic.”

“And also, what if more people had guns there, guys?” Payne asked as if the idea had been an epiphany to him. “What if people could have defended themselves?”

“It may have been a different outcome,” Tantaros concluded.

That “BOOM!” you may have just heard was the heads of intelligent, lucid people exploding from an overload their sense of reality just couldn’t handle. No reasonably lucid person can be expected to handle so much Stupid at one time. If there was a meter with which one could measure hypocrisy, you can bet it would have busted a needle.

The real surprise lies not in that the discussion turned to the “What if they had guns canard?”, but that it didn’t happen on the day of the attack. “It may have been a different outcome?” Really? This in a situation in which first responders had great difficulty in subduing Dear, who managed to kill a police officer? The sheer stupidity of Tantaros’ argument barely warrants consideration…and so I’ll leave it there.

It does fascinate me, though, that Conservatives like Tantaros so easily and willingly condemn Liberals for allegedly doing the very same thing they themselves habitually and regularly do.

Hypocrisy? WHAT hypocrisy??

If we fear terrorism, shouldn't we fear White Christian males even more than Muslims? was the previous entry in this blog.
