Former Texas Republican congressman Steve Stockman said yesterday that he may flee the U.S. if Hillary Clinton is elected president. In an interview on Rick Wiles’ “Trunews” program alongside Gun Owners of America head Larry Pratt, Stockman said that he may move to Panama to avoid the Clinton administration, predicting that she would open the nation up to a massive attack.
There are those whose value to this country is such that their taking leave of it would be cause for alarm. Rest assured that Steve Stockman is nowhere near making that list. The former Congressman, who during his time in the House of Representatives was Shep to Rep. Louie Gohmert’s Curly, is no one’s idea of an intellectual or moral giant. Stockman never missed an opportunity to insult Democrats, particularly The Black Guy in the White House ©. That he would threaten to leave the country if Hillary Clinton becomes President makes me want to help him pack.
I could care less if Stockman decamps for Panama, Albania, or the Seventh Circle of Hell. Outside of his family and friends, I suspect his declaration is barely yawn-worthy. Most Americans likely wouldn’t waste even that much energy on a reaction. His cheap theatrics are his to ply as he will. Perhaps he’s just a narcissist desperately missing the attention he received as a Congressman. If the best he can do is sharing a microphone with noted intellectual moral lightweight Larry Pratt, he really has come down in the world. Pratt is to cogent intellectual discourse what Michele Bachmann was to sane, rational consideration of opposing ideas. At least he’s someone as thoroughly addled and disturbed as Stockman.
Maybe if we started a GoFundMe campaign to help the former Congressman buy a one-way ticket to Panama City….
