Look at all these looney lefitsts defending grown men walking into their little girls bathrooms. They are literally insane. Our country is headed in a backwards direction fast. It will be no time till pedophiles will be claiming discrimination and the lefties are already trying to get pedophilia made legal. Look it up.
In a world rife with seemingly unsolvable, intractable, and legitimate problems, we’re left to deal with those obsessing over which restrooms a transgender individual should be allowed to use. That there are many who’d deny them the right to use ANY restroom is hardly a stretch to imagine. Though most clearly know nothing about the realities and struggles faced by those dealing with gender identity issues, they’ve convinced themselves (incorrectly and unreasonably) that the “T” in “LGBT” is code for “sexual predator.”
I’d sooner be forced to spend eternity on the set of “Naked and Afraid” than to do anything to lend the American Family Association (AFA) anything even faintly resembling credibility. AFA portrays itself as a Christian organization focused on “traditional values,” which in their case means homophobia, bigotry, intolerance, and religious zealotry. They brook no dissent; anyone who disagrees with their arch-Conservative theology/morality/ideology is immediately branded an enemy and worthy only of destruction…which is evidently what good, Bible-believing Christians do these days.
AFA is a credible cultural force only by its own estimation; for the most part it’s Bryan Fischer, (that true representative of Christian love and charity) and his radio show in Tupelo, MS. Known chiefly for his virulent disdain for LGBT rights, reproductive health care, and any/all things Muslim, Fischer is a devotee of the teachings of Jesus Christ in the same way Ted Bundy was an authority on male-female relationships. While he’s certainly among AFA’s most vocal and virulent haters, he’s hardly alone. AFA is home to many whose arch-Conservative Christianity is far more about Far Right-wing Conservatism than it is about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The hatred spread in Jesus’ name by AFA has found a large and receptive audience among those whose Christian faith lacks any semblance of compassion, tolerance, and the ability to mind their own damned business.
This company is trying to impose their morality on everyone else. They discriminate against us all in favor of a few. They put women and children in uncomfortable or compromised situations with this announcement. Like Paypal, I will discontinue doing business with Target and let them know that their world view is not mine and I don’t appreciate them being a bully. Yes, Apple, your time is coming. I will see my whole family walk away from your products in time. We need to encourage a new order of businesses to emerge that are run by people of God, character, and decency.
Instead of Christians legitimately endeavoring to lead Christ-like lives, we have those steeped in ignorance, hatred, and bigotry coming to the fore to decry a problem that exists only in their hyperactive fear centers. It’s put forward with the smug arrogance of those who KNOW they’re right…most likely because they’ve gotten their information from Fox News Channel, the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), or AFA.
I’m not going to claim that no transgender individual has ever been guilty of the type of behavior these good, God-fearing, Bible-believing Christian patriots fear so intensely (What about our precious snowflakes??). I suspect that somewhere along the line, a transgender person has been guilty of traipsing into the wrong restroom in the quest to satisfy their twisted desires. What I do know is that there exists a significantly greater risk of a heterosexual male going into a women’s restroom desirous of preying on innocent women and girls. Not surprisingly, this fact is conveniently and completely ignored because it doesn’t fit the dominant narrative that TRANSGENDER = SEXUAL PERVERT.
Can you picture yourself in a public bathroom when a man walks in and goes in to one of the stalls? I don’t even like it when little boys are in the ladies bathroom! I think we women are going to have to start carrying mace, knives, concealed guns, etc. with us to restaurants, movie theaters, etc. Notice that no one seems to be talking about women going into the mens bathrooms!
Last year for her 11th birthday my daughter’s wish was for me to take her to Target and be allowed to shop and look around for as long as she liked. We have pictures of her at different ages on the red balls outside the store because for some reason this is a “happy place” for her. Now she has to learn that Target is no longer a safe place for her to shop, use a dressing room, or go to the rest room because your company has announced it “welcomes” perverts who want to put on some female clothing and look at little girls or expose themselves. Not only will I not shop at Target, you have also lost a future generation shopper as well. Protect your daughters and their innocence. #BoycottTarget
It’s not that I doubt the motives of those who’ve said they’ll boycott Target. Never mind that they’re engaging in the mirror image of the same sort of PC nonsense they chide Liberals for. I don’t doubt that on some level, their motives feel legitimate, well-considered, and eminently sensible. They want to protect their families, and there’s certainly nothing wrong with that. Where we part ways is the reality that their desire to protect those they hold dear is built on the soft sand of fear, ignorance, arrogance, and the refusal to understand what it is they so vociferously stand in opposition to.
If it’s sexual predators these folks fear, might I suggest their considerable righteous anger might be more profitably and effectively spent on pedophile priests in the Catholic Church, who actually DO pose a clear and present danger. Transgender individuals present a threat ranking on about the same level as the Cleveland Browns winning next year’s Super Bowl.
There’s no convincing people immune to facts that what they fear and hate isn’t nearly the problem they believe it to be. Such ignorance and self-delusion allows them to feel secure in the belief that God is on their side and that it’s long past time to punish those who’d enable those they believe would inevitably prey on innocent women and children.
Such is the power of propaganda and disinformation…and the predisposition to manifest hatred and bigotry.
