This is what happens when your thoughts originate in your fear center

In a Facebook post now hidden from view, the likely new sheriff of Denton County, Texas said he would beat a transgender woman so severely she’d end up in a hospital if she tried to share a bathroom with his daughter. According to the Dallas Observer, Tracy Murphfree — who only faces token opposition from a Libertarian Party candidate and no Democratic candidate — jumped on the anti-transgender bandwagon with his Friday afternoon post…. “This whole bathroom thing is craziness I have never seen,” Murphree wrote last Friday. “All I can say is this: If my little girl is in a public women’s restroom and a man, regardless of how he may identify, goes into the bathroom, he will then identify as a John Doe until he wakes up in whatever hospital he may be taken to. Your identity does not trump my little girl’s safety. I identify as an overprotective father that loves his kids and would do anything to protect them”

Family Dollar cashier goes on unhinged bigoted rant after refusing to serve LGBT customers

It’s astonishing how quickly and easily some people default to hatred as their “go-to” emotional reaction. I suppose it makes sense on some level; loving someone means making an effort to know and understand them. Hatred requires no such effort, merely the willingness and ability to ignore a person’s humanity and view them as an object. Hating the LGBT community isn’t exactly a new phenomenon, but thanks to good, God-fearing, Bible-believing Republicans legislators in North Carolina and Mississippi, residents have an all-new bogeyman to fear.

I randomly picked links to three stories from I website I frequent to serve as an example of the sort of silly, ill-informed, misplaced, and thoroughly irrational hatred directed at transgender individuals. Never mind that the vast majority of predators who act out in restrooms are heterosexual males, not “men in dresses.” WE MUST LIVE IN ABJECT FEAR OF TRANSGENDER PERVERTS, BECAUSE THEY’RE COMING TO MOLEST OUR PRECIOUS SNOWFLAKES AND ROB THEM OF THEIR INNOCENCE!!!

Gimme a break, people….

Then again, I suspect that hating those who live and love differently is EXACTLY the sort of thing Jesus preached…amiright?? It’s what good cafeteria Christians are commanded to do in the name of a loving and benevolent Lord and Savior…whose teachings they follow only when it’s convenient and serves their purpose.
