If your faith allows you to celebrate mass murder, you're a monster (Part Deux)

Baptist pastor Roger Jimenez of the California-based Verity Baptist Church drew widespread condemnation when he praised Omar Mateen’s terror attack on a gay Orlando nightclub — and now he’s getting some much-deserved comeuppance. Local news station WMAZ 13 reports that Harsch Investment Properties, the company that owns the building where Jimenez’s church now resides, says that it will not renew the church’s lease and is even asking Jimenez to consider moving immediately…. “We have many places of worship and other religious organizations in the properties we manage,” the company said in a press release, which also noted that the company will not tolerate “tenants who advocate hatred and the taking of innocent lives.”…. Sadly, the lease doesn’t expire until next March, so Jimenez and his church might be able to stay in the building for several more months. That said, Harsch Investment Properties has made it very clear that Verity Baptist Church is not welcome on their property.

Today’s dispatch from the “Ain’t Karma a Bitch?” Department comes to us from California, where Pastor Roger Jimenez has been doing everything within his considerable powers to give Christians a bad name. You remember Pastor Roger, right? The one who preached “Are you sad that 50 pedophiles were killed today? I think Orlando, Florida, is a little safer tonight. The tragedy is that more of them didn’t die. The tragedy is I’m kind of upset he didn’t finish the job.”? Yeah, turns out that preaching hatred and condoning mass murder and genocide in the name of Jesus Christ isn’t universally well-received.

I wrote yesterday about Pastor Donnie Romero, who proclaimed himself “100 percent” in agreement…so at least Pastor Roger isn’t a lone wolf. Actually, he’s far from alone. The number of “Christian” ministers who greeted the news of the Orlando massacre with glee because homosexuals were the victims should be distressing to anyone with a functional moral center. That anyone could claim the imprimatur of the Almighty while preaching that it’s acceptable to hate and kill in Jesus’ name is monstrous. That a man can claim to represent the same Lord and Savior who preached love, tolerance, acceptance, and inclusion while greeting wholesale slaughter with joy and celebration is beyond sickening.

The good news is these fools are a pronounced minority, easy to spot, and even more easily exposed for the haters and frauds that they are. Yes, indeed; karma truly can be a bitch.
