Yesterday was an interesting study in contrasts for me. All I wanted was to avoid the television and radio coverage of 9.11 at all costs. Susan couldn't get enough of it. I suppose we each just wanted to remember what happened in ways that we could digest.
I did try to watch a little bit of news coverage here and there, but I just couldn't handle it. I can't really put my finger on exactly why, but I suppose each of us have our own personal limit for pain and suffering. Mine, it seems, has been exceeded by a fair piece.
What will be interesting will be to see where we go from here. Our grandparents' generation used Pearl Harbor as a rallying cry, and the results speak for themselves. Will we be so wise and fortunate? Only time will tell....
