If you want to play here, ya gotta play well with others

OK, I feel as if the time has come for me to lay down the law. As a rule, I tolerate and encourage a wide range of opinions on this site. Some I agree with, some I don't. All, however, are valid and deserved to be considered. What I will not countenance is name-calling, insults, or other disparaging remarks directed at the beliefs of another person. If you disagree with me, make your case. My only requirement is that you do it with respect.

I do log IP addresses, and though I have not had to do it yet, I will ban anyone who doesn't follow my one simple rule: treat others as you'd like to be treated yourself. None of us are perfect, and I must admit to not being 100% in compliance myself, but I do have a problem when I see something like this in the comments:

Lets just say that Liberals are the Eddie Haskell of "Leave it to Beaver" characters.

I may warn you, or I may not. This should not be taken as a threat, merely as a gentle reminder. If we all play well together, this will be a lot more fun for all of us. No one wants to be sent to the Principal's office, eh?
