The horrors of Saddam's 'sadist' son
- Torture after losing games.
- Extended prison terms.
- Beatings with iron bars.
- Caning the soles of athletes feet.
- Chaining athletes and coaches to walls and leaving them in contorted positions for days.
- Dragging athletes on pavement until their backs are bloody, and then dunking them in sewage to ensure that the wounds become infected.
- Urinating on an athlete's bowed and shaven head.
If these sound like uncoventional training methods, it's because in most civilized countries, they would be considered abuse at the very least, if not felony assault and battery. In Saddam Hussein's Iraq, though, if power corrupts, then absolute power is, well, kind of fun, really. The sad thing is that the exploits of his son Uday have gone largely unnoticed in the cacophony about Iraq's supposed weapons of mass destruction.
Uday, by all accounts, is one of the most callous, sadistic, self-absorbed despots that Iraq has to offer- and since he is Saddam's son, he is virtually untouchable. This fact has apparently NOT been lost on Uday, who practices his almost absolute power with glee.
Perhaps if US troops are fortunate enough to capture Uday alive, they can wire his scrotum to a car battery and light him up. It would seem the least that could be done to such a waste of humanity.
