Hello, Clarice....

After four nights on my new CPAP machine, I'm beginning to notice a difference. People keep asking me if I'm feeling rested, but I can't honestly answer that question. I have no idea what rested feels like, but I definitely feel better.

Susan tells me that my snoring has subsided, and Eric tells me he can now hear his mother snore. Apparently, I've been drowning her out. There is definitely an adjustment process to get through- sleeping on my back, wearing a mask, and having pressurized air blown up my nose are all things that require some getting used to. I've been told that it will take about a month or so to fully acclimate, but I have no problem doing that if the end result will be a decent night's sleep.

Getting my stamina back is not going to happen overnight, either, but at least I no longer feel like a liability behind the wheel. It's nice to be able to feel human again, even if I do look like Hannibal Lecter on an oxygen tank.
