Something to keep in mind for 2004

From the "It's Never Too Late To Get Things Straight in 2004" Department:

Ten Reasons To Vote Democratic

by Darlene Cook

Hey, I know the Democrats aren’t perfect, but just take a few minutes to imagine what a Republican controlled government would look like and how it would affect not only you but your children and your children’s children and then:

10. Vote for a Democrat if you don't want Roe v Wade overturned.

9. Vote for a Democrat if you don’t want the courts stacked with more right wing activist extremists.

8. Vote for a Democrat if you don’t want oil rigs in your national parks.

7. Vote for a Democrat if you don’t want what’s left of environmental laws scrapped

6. Vote for a Democrat if you don’t want more cities to become smog -choked nightmares and our national waterways to become mere dumping grounds.

5. Vote for a Democrat if you don’t want the middle class to disappear due to Bush continually supporting the rich, whose permanent tax cuts will make them financially free from sharing the burden, and to stop the Republican agenda, which would repeal taxes for corporations.

4. Vote for a Democrat if you don’t want wars springing up everywhere.

3. Vote for a Democrat if you don’t want your civil liberties to be further eroded.

2. Vote for a Democrat if you don’t want the separation of church and state to be obliterated, and if you don’t want the Religious Right openly dictating government policy.

1. Vote for a Democrat if you don't want government social security to disappear and the funds used to line the pockets of privatized stock salesmen, many of whom are friends of and/or contributors to Bush.
