Nun trapped in car by 18,000-lb. concrete slab
There is no way I could make this one up....
An elderly Houston nun was injured this morning when an 18,000-pound concrete stab fell off a truck and landed on her car.
The accident happened about 11:40 a.m. at the intersection of Montrose and Alabama.
Houston police officers said the Stiles Truck Line vehicle was traveling southbound on Montrose and was attempting a wide turn onto Alabama from the far lane when the woman in the car pulled into the curb lane, perhaps unaware that the truck was turning.
Police said the nun, a member of the Society of the Sacred Heart, was trapped in her car for about 20 minutes as emergency personnel tried to pop open her car door.
Of course, after starting her day like this, I imagine the poor nun's day couldn't help but improve dramatically. Ouch....
