Be Vancouver Canucks GM for a day
Another disappointing early playoff exit for the Canucks- another one in a series, actually. Now that the skates have been hung up and the players have hit the golf courses for the summer, the time for decisions is upon team management.
Two weeks ago today, a forlorn group of Vancouver Canucks players cleaned out their lockers, bundled up their Eastons and headed for the exits on their 2002-03 National Hockey League season.
The Canucks provided many spectacular moments in a record-breaking regular season - 104 points, 10-game win streak, 14-game unbeaten streak - but the good times were all but forgotten after the playoff collapse against Jacques Lemaire's cult from Minnesota.
With the players now dispersed for the summer, general manager Brian Burke and his wise men have to decide on a course of action for next season. Burke pays the likes of Dave Nonis, Steve Tambellini and Ron Delorme for their input but he could always use more help - especially when it's free. So here's your chance to be Brian Burke for a day and make those critical, gut-wrenching decisions that will push the Canucks to a higher level in 2003-04.
So what DO you do for next season? Hey, advice is always free for the giving, eh? The results will published in the Vancouver Sun.
