He's been riding along, clad in only a thong
Just when I'd began to think that Texas was beginning to lose it's edge, there comes this story to renew my faith in our beloved state's innate iconoclastic nature- and no, I am NOT going to include a picture. I'm trying to eat here, OK??
SAN ANTONIO -- A 52-year-old man who regularly rides his bike in a city park wearing only a black thong has drawn dozens of complaints but says he'll keep pedaling because it's his legal right.
"We all claim to believe in the value of personal liberty, but we don't," Joseph Gottschalk said. "No one person has the right to outrank the law and tell me what to wear."
By law, Gottschalk is allowed to wear the thong as long as it covers the appropriate parts. San Antonio park police said they have received several complaints about him in the past month and have contacted him at least 20 times in the past four years.
"This is unique, let me tell you. Normal general public doesn't do that," Capt. Raymond Castro said. "But he's within his civil rights and legal rights to wear his thong."
You know, we've got a bike at home, and I DO have an old Speedo. Do you think?...nah, the missus would never go for it.....
