I suppose there are worse things to be known for, eh?

Come Back, Clinton Sex Nation: Is the country better off with a president who actually has an active libido? Hell yes. (stolen from Michele)

I'm not a huge fan of Mark Morford, but I think he might be on to something here, even if Michele doesn't think so. Hey, come on now; it's not as if JFK was famous for his policies, either. At least read Morford's piece before you pass judgement. On the surface, it may seem patently absurd, but if you can get past the moral baggage any discussion of sex entails, there is definitely some food for thought here.

I think the point of Morford's piece has less to do with sex than with pointing out the differences between the uptight stuffed shirts of the Shrub Administration and the Clintonites, who at least were young enough to understand the concept of and purpose of fun. Morford's use of sex to make his point is rather excessive, but a deeper analysis does reveal the essential conflict in the qualities we look for in a President. (A leader who is More Like Us, or a Serious Stuffed Shirt like Shrub?)

Certainly, Clinton made a huge mistake. Too many on the Right are more than willing to use his lapse in judgement as an indictment of his entire term in office. Doing so is unfair, it's mean-spirited, and it completely devalues the accomplishments of the Clinton Administration. Of course, those of you who have been trained to hate Clinton unconditionally and regardless of fact or reason will not be swayed by this argument. What Hillary Clinton described as the "politics of personal hatred" is a very real phenomenon, and too many of you have been so completely blinded by it that you've lost your objectivity.
