Lima takes long way back to the majors
REBOUND: Lima gains second chance in majors
Hey, I'm all for second chances, but Jose Lima is hardly an athlete I would deem worthy of one. One 20-win season, and he thinks he's God's gift to pitching. Give him credit, though- after making a complete jackass of himself in Detroit last season, he worked his way back to the majors with a detour in Newark. Perhaps he's (finally) realized what he almost lost.
Lima's act plays well only if he is getting people out. If he continues to pitch the way he has over the past 2+ years, he's not going to last long in Kansas City, either. For his sake, I hope he's grown up enough to recognize that when you're winning, you can paint the town red. If you're losing, you'd best be in bed by nine. Chances are good that if he's in Kansas City, he's not going to be winning a lot of games.
