My love-hate relationship with technology continues....

Two weeks ago, we were a family with three computers. Now we are down to one. Two weeks ago, I sold my old desktop to our neighbors, and yesterday my laptop decided to go tits-up. When I try to reboot it, all I get is a black screen with a flashing cursor in the upper left corner. Great; what I have now is a $1600 door-stop.

Of course, I can go back to the Bat Cave and use Eric's computer, but when he's home, he's usually on it, and I hate to invade his space. So now, being the History major, non-techie sort that I am, I have to figure just what in the Hell the problem is. How to breathe life back into the inert body that is the current state of my laptop? Whatever am I to do? Who the Hell knows.... This may mean that I won't be posting as much over the next couple of days, but some of you might think that's a GOOD thing, no??
