And on the seventh day, they lounged

(button via Avedon Carol)

Given that it's Labor Day, I am studiously avoiding said labor. In fact, I've barely roused my sorry @$$ off the couch all day, and it's been rather enjoyable. I bought Al Franken's Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them, so I've been busily indoctrinating myself. As with Michael Moore's Dude, Where's My Country?, which I recently finished, I've been struck by the depth and breadth of research that went into both books, something that seems strangely absent from most Conservative screeds (see "O'Reilly, Bill", "Hannity, Sean", "Malkin, Michelle", and "Coulter, Ann", for whom simply thinking seems to be innate and sufficient proof).

Just a warning, y'all...if you found my Progressive partisanship somewhat irksome before, strap yourself in. With less than two months until Erection...er, Election Day, it's not going to get any prettier.
