How about we wait on the ritual suicides?

Democrats searching for a new battle cry

Anatomy of a Crushing Political Defeat

Mourning in America

OK, here’s a suggestion, y’all…. Before we begin looking for scapegoats and/or falling on our collective sword, how about we take some time to step back, take a deep breath, and digest our defeat? Let’s not do anything stupid and rash in the name of reacting to a painful and unexpected result. It’s not as if John Kerry pulled a McGovern.

Once we’ve been able to step back and gain some perspective, I think Democrats nationwide will realize that yes, we lost, but things are not as bleak as they might seem. Out of 115 million votes cast, John Kerry lost by 3 million. The job now is to figure out how to get a candidate over the top the next time around. We CAN do it; there’s no need for weeping and gnashing of teeth. If we’re honest with ourselves and what we believe in, I think we’ll be OK. All we need is a candidate who can convince Americans of that. It’s too soon to be throwing names out there, but that person IS out there. For now, let’s all just relax and step back from the ledge, OK??

Here’s an oppportunity to make lemonade out of lemons if ever there was one.
