Bush Goal: Palestinian State by 2009

It’s a noble goal, of course, but there is just one problem with the creation of a Palestinian state as Dubya envisions it: it’s in California. Then again, Red State voters might just agree that this is deserved retribution for straying from the Party line, eh?

President Bush set a goal yesterday of ensuring the creation of a peaceful, democratic Palestinian state alongside Israel before he leaves office in 2009. With British Prime Minister Tony Blair at his side, Bush pledged to put the resources of the United States and the prestige of his presidency behind the quest.

“I’d like to see it done in four years,” Bush said. “I think it is possible.”

Of course, Blair doesn’t care because, well, he’s British. Dubya doesn’t care, because he didn’t carry California anyway. As far as he’s concerned, the Golden State can go pound sand.

The details of the plan have yet to be released, but rumor has it that Bakersfield will be the capitol of the new Palestinian state. There’s nothing there anyway, so most Palestinians will no doubt feel right at home.

The Associated Press is reporting that Arnold Schwarzenegger is virulently opposed to Dubya’s plan, but the wire story also mentions that Dubya may buy the Governator’s assent by giving him a new Cabinet-level position as Secretary of Well-Oiled Repressed Homosexual Bodybuilders.

Stay tuned….
