For a Texas Republican, mediocrity can be it's own reward

7 key officials back Perry re-election bid: The governor counters efforts by possible rivals Strayhorn and Sen. Hutchison

Proving once again that aspiring to great things is not a quality that Texas Republicans require of the leaders, seven prominent fellow travellers have endorsed Governor Goodhair, Rick Perry, for re-election next year.

Texas’ stealth Governor has sufficiently impressed a few fellow Republicans with his ability to fly under radar that they think he is deserving of four more years. Are you wondering what their litmus test was? Well, try this one: name one thing Rick Perry has done during his term in office.

Take your time….

That’s OK, I’m in no hurry….

Having trouble?

OK, time’s up, y’all. The truth is, I couldn’t come up with one thing, either, which, if you think about it, makes him the perfect candidate. It’s tough to run negative ads against someone who is a veritable tabula rasa.

Granted, any Governor of this Great State is held to very low expectations, particulary a Republican one…and few are better equipped to meet low expectations than Rick Perry.

Kinky Friedman is looking better with every passing day….
