And you wonder why I so detest Our Glorious Leader....

Bush visits Idaho track star who lost legs (via First Draft)

He’s had surgeries every other day and it’s taken a toll on the man,” Terry Greene said. “He’s had emergency surgery twice at his bedside because he was too unstable to move. The doctors tell us he is the most critical patient on the intensive care unit. He’s a fighter. He’s getting through these things, but it’s taken its toll.

blood.jpgIf anyone fails to understand my fervent opposition to the war in Iraq and my hatred of what George W. Bush has done to this country, I would humbly offer the story of Marine CPL Travis Greene. Greene, who was on his third tour of duty in Iraq when he was wouned in an explosion while trying to evacuate other wounded Marines. Greene, a former track star who was offered a track scholarship at Boise State University, lost both legs and was left clinging to life.

Greene, who has had more than 100 blood transfusions since returning from Iraq to Bethesda Naval Medical Center in Maryland, will never run or jump again. If he is fortunate to survive and recover, he will likely never leave a wheelchair. I can’t help but wonder why no one is upset at the policy and the President who placed Travis Greene in harm’s way? Why is no one in Congress, or the Greene family demanding that this sorry, lying excuse for a President be impeached for the lies, the fudged intelligence, and the resulting dead and maimed Americans? My God, sheeple; if this had happened on Bill Clinton’s watch he would have long since been defending himself against impeachment charges in the well of the Senate- and deservedly so. Why, then, is Our Glorious Leader seemingly immune from being held accountable? Well, when Republicans control Congress as they do, a Republican President could bugger a goat in the Rose Garden live on CNN’s American Morning and not have anything to worry about.

“Travis offered his hand to President Bush and President Bush shook his hand. He presented Travis with his Purple Heart and said he was very proud of him and proud of everything they’d done.

“He genuinely cares about these boys and so does Mrs. Bush. He said if there’s anything I need, just give the word. The first lady is just awesome. She shook my hand and gave me and Sue a hug.”

“It was an honor,” said Sue Greene. “They’re just genuine people. He gave me a hug and thanked me for being strong.”

I understand that these are difficult times for the Greene family, but if Greene had been wounded in a robbery attempt, would they be so effusively praising the thug who robbed and shot their son? That is essentially what they are doing, and while it no doubt helps to think that their son was doing his duty, he is in the condition he is because their President lied his way into a war he had wanted since 9.11.

Travis Greene is missing both legs because Our Glorious Leader is a miserable, lying, sack of excrement who cares only for power and nothing for those ground up and spit out in the quest for it. If getting a blow job from an intern is an impeachable offense, then surely Bush’s escapades must rise well beyond that, no? Of course, that’s not the way Republicans handle the People’s Business, is it?

Truly, being a Republican means never having to say you’re sorry- or be held accountable.

WE DESERVE BETTER.

Kinda like trying to have a reasoned, intelligent debate with Kevin Baker, eh? was the previous entry in this blog.

It's not a difficult question, really.... is the next entry in this blog.
