Inept, incompetent, and built to stay that way

City Council lobbies for Doug Williams as Saints coach

Hmm…the Ninth Ward’s been cleaned up, all the displaced residents have returned, all the flooded businesses are back up and running…yep, it really does look like the New Orleans City Council has managed to solve all of the city’s post-Katrina problems, eh? So why not worry about who the next coach of the Saints will be? What else is a politician to do when he/she has become almost irrelevant?

Hey, I like Doug Williams, and I think it’s about time he got a shot at a head coaching job in the NFL. With his Grambling connections as a player and coach, and his Super Bowl MVP credentials, the Saints couldn’t do much better. Having said that, though, don’t you think that the City Council has few other, BIGGER problems to worry about…like getting New Orleans back on it’s feet again. Local government is facing the biggest rebuilding project in the history of our country…and the City Council is worried about who’s going to coach their inept football team?

No wonder New Orleans is as much of a f——-g mess now as it was prior to Katrina, eh? Then again, I suppose consistency is good thing….
