Lies that lying liars lie and the lying lies they continue to lyingly lie

Abramoff says he met president a dozen times: Lobbyist claims Bush once invited him to Crawford

Three More GOP members tied to Abramoff

“The guy saw me in almost a dozen settings, and joked with me about a bunch of things, including details of my kids. Perhaps he has forgotten everything, who knows,” Abramoff wrote in an e-mail to Kim Eisler, national editor for the Washingtonian magazine. Abramoff says Bush once invited him to his Texas ranch.

Amazing, isn’t it? It never ceases to amaze how selective a politician’s memory becomes once a scandal breaks out. Suddenly, total recall goes hazy, and those strong, fond memories become clouded in shades of grey uncertainty. Of course, self-preservation being the instinct that it is, I suppose one can’t really blame Our Glorious Leader for suddenly experiencing almost Alzheimers-like symptoms when the name of Jack Abramoff is mentioned. “Hmm…Scandal Boy…nope, don’t rightly recall ever meeting hm, much less having conversations with him….”

Then again, it does strain credibility that one of the the far Right’s strongest lobbyists and brightest fund-raising stars is suddenly such a fuzzy, distant memory to Our Glorious Leader. Now that Abramoff is now persona non grata (he WAS caught, after all)…no Republican, least of all the Prevaricator in Chief is going to own up to making nicey-nice with perhaps one of the most venal and corrupt lobbyists of our time. That Abramoff enjoyed such close ties with so many Republican members of Congress (et tu, Tom DeLay?) should be something that may well result in a few prison terms…or at the very least a few shortened political careers. Personally, as long as DeLay goes to prison and is forced to lose sleep over the possibilty of becoming someone’s b—-h, I’ll be a happy boy.

I don’t seriously believe that Our Glorious Leader was involved in any criminal behavior linked to Abramoff, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility, either. The fact that he’s now trying to play the failing memory card if nothing else makes him look guilty by association. Of course, Abramoff is pretty radioactive right about now, so no Republican with half a brain is going to want his (or her) name used in the same sentence as “Abramoff”…much less have a picture with Abramoff appear in their district’s hometown newspaper- never mind the Washington Post.

The messages were made public by the American Progress Action Fund, a liberal activist group. Eisler confirmed their accuracy but said he did not intend them to become public.

“They reflect the feeling of frustration he has not just with Bush but with all these guys claiming they didn’t know him,” said Eisler, who knew Abramoff through a book he wrote about the Pequot Indian tribe.

Abramoff pleaded guilty to fraud charges in early January and is cooperating with prosecutors in a corruption probe that could implicate lawmakers and officials across Washington.

Bush has said he never had a discussion with Abramoff and does not remember having his picture taken with him.

I DID NOT HAVE SEX WITH THAT MAN…oh, wait…I really, honestly don’t remember him…so…?? Since no reasonable person would accuse Our Glorious Leader of being a person of integrity, you can bet that at some point it will come out that he and Abramoff were tighter than two cowboys in a sleeping bag under a clear Wyoming sky. THAT ought to prove interesing, eh?

Why can’t the man just come out and tell the truth, instead of playing dumb?…which, if you think about it, is the one thing he really does excel at….
