This message brought to you by the Republican Propaganda Network

Hannity fund raises, you decide (via AmericaBLOG)

A scheduled appearance here Saturday by a big-name conservative talk-show host has raised more than a few eyebrows. Sean Hannity, co-host of the Fox News “Hannity and Colmes” political talk show, will appear at a fund-raising breakfast with U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum, who is seeking re-election.

It seems indisputable that journalistic ethics and Fox News Channel are official mutually exclusive. When Right-wing talk show hosts like FNC’s own Sean Hannity can participate in fund-raising activities for Right-wing nutjobs like Rick Santorum, are we really to believe that anyone at FNC possesses a shred of journalistic objectivity?

Of course, no one with half a brain would think that FNC is anything but a propaganda pipeline for the Republican Party. Given the barely concealed flag-waiving and shilling for Conservative candidates and viewpoints, that Hannity is fundraising for Santorum should hardly come as a surprise. In fact, it’s right in character with FNC’s unwritten mission statement. Since Roger Ailes used to be a propagandist for Ronald Reagan…well, it’s not like anyone could reasonably expect objective journalism, eh?

I suppose the good thing about FNC is that nutjobs like Hannity and Bill O’Reilly are in one place. This way, I only have to ignore one channel. And it’s not as if reasonable people actually turn to FNC for honest, objective news anyway….

Fair and balanced, my @$$….

I don't know for sure, as I don't subscribe to cable or dish, but Hannity does a political show on FOX, right?

It might be different if he was a reporter, a CBS News anchor, a 60 Minutes producer, or just about anybody at NPR, or if had produced and directed a politically biased film and promoted it as a documentary.

But then again, maybe not -- As long as we have a free press, we will also have a yellow-press.
