McKinney’s Latest Gaffe: Not Swearing Hard Enough
TV station catches gaffe by McKinney: Congresswoman berates staffer as tape rolled after interview
Transcript of McKinney comments
Anything that is captured by your audio while I’m not seated in this chair is off the record and is not permissible to use - is that understood?

You could be forgiven for thinking that former DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA) would have learned her lesson after punching a Capitol police officer and then having to apologize once she realized that no one was buying her “It’s because I’m Black” argument. After all, McKinney is a US Congresswoman, an accomplished public servant and…a complete and total DUMB@$$.
No, McKinney has no more learned her lesson than Our Glorious Leader is willing to admit that his war in Iraq is a clusterf—k. Stupid is as stupid does, and Cynthia McKinney is the living embodiment of that theorem. Here is a public servant so stupid, so craven, and so full of herself that she can completely lose her composure and then see no problem with demanding that a television station not use the embarrassing footage and audio. Yes, McKinney is so thoroughly brain-dead that it’s a wonder she can scrape together the brain cells to play the race card when things are getting rough.
The flap-plagued congresswoman, who has been in the media spotlight since she scuffled with a Capitol Hill police officer last month, was caught bad-mouthing a senior staffer Saturday.
Unfortunately for McKinney, a DeKalb County Democrat who is running for re-election in the 4th Congressional District, a TV microphone she was wearing picked up her indelicate grumbling.
“Crap!” an irritated McKinney is heard saying after ending an interview with CBS 46 in which reporter Renee Starzyk repeatedly asked about the fallout from the police dust-up. “You know what? They lied to Coz and Coz is a fool.”
McKinney, apparently realizing her blunder, then returned to face the camera and tell the reporter that comments about her communications director, Coz Carson, were off the record.
But the TV stationed aired the footage Saturday and the story later was picked up by CNN.
McKinney, who apparently truly is arrogant and ignorant enough to believe that she can control how the media uses their access to her and her immature outburts, would seem to be premanently, irretrievably brain-dead when it comes to acting as a mature, adult Congresswoman. The arrogance, the sense of entitlement, and the sheer clueless that seem to radiate from every pore of McKinney’s body is truly beyond the comprehension of mere mortals.
Mike Machi, Channel 46’s assistant news director, said McKinney’s office was aware Starzyk would ask about the fuss in the one-on-one interview.
“Congresswoman McKinney has been in Washington for a long time and she has handled the media for most of her public life,” said Machi, who was unapologetic about airing the interview outtakes. “There were lots of ways to handle this and I was absolutely surprised that she handled this situation in that fashion.”
McKinney, who is expected to qualify for her U.S. House race today, could not be reached Sunday for comment. But Carson, who said he began working for the congresswoman a week before the pushing incident, seemed unbothered by the public upbraiding.
“I share her frustration with the media’s insatiable appetite for controversy and unimportant issues,” said Carson, a former newsman who said he has known McKinney and her family for years.
“Controversy and unimportant issues”? Apparently, Carson is as thoroughly arrogant and clueless as his boss. A Congresswoman strikes a Capitol police officer, cries racial prejudice, spins her way into a corner, and thoroughly embarrasses herself…and Carson thinks it “unimportant”? Might I remind McKinney’s clueless apologist that striking a police officer is a felony? And that his boss still faces the possibility of jail time?
Jeez, as clueless, self-absorbed, and self-righteous as McKinney is, you’d almost think she she was a Republican. No doubt if Tom DeLay was an African-American female with silly hair and an overdeveloped sense of entitlement, he’d be Cynthia McKinney…and there’s a truly frightening mental picture, no?
Perhaps McKinney would benefit from doing some hard time. A little humility might be just what she needs.
WE DESERVE BETTER.

I feel sorry for Cynthia McKinney. The guard probably did single her out because she is black. As an apparently suspicious-looking white woman, I've been singled out and searched by security guards in buildings, clubs and airports and I can tell you that it's a very humiliating experience.
These rent-a-cops get a big thrill out of asserting their power and harrassing women. I've certainly been angry enough to want to punch a guard, although at 5'2" and 120 lbs, I've never actually had the guts to follow through with that desire.
It would not surprise me in the least if the guard gave Ms. McKinney a hard time due to her race and gender. Knowing what I know about the type of dumb brutes who seek employment as security guards, it would not surprise me in the least if he did deserve to be punched by McKinney.
I don't dispute ACV's reports of mistreatment, but would like to point out that "rent-a-cops" typically do not give their lives in the line of duty.
Unlike the vast majority of other members of Congress, Ms. McKinney arrogantly refuses to wear the pin that helps the capitol police recognize her and allows her to bypass the screening performed on thousands of visitors everyday.
I do not feel sorry for her. I feel sorry for the people who have to deal with real racism everyday, and have been marginalized by her pathetic attempt to use the race card to escape the consequences of her inappropriate behavior.
