Nothing wrong with starting a dialogue, eh?

50 Easy Questions to Ask Any Republican

Have you ever wanted to turn to your Republican friends and ask, “Dude, WTF???” Me, too. Unfortunately, that’s probably not going to get you a favorable respsonse, nor will it start much in the way of rational dialogue. Still, sometimes I wish it was possible to discuss the state of our country without the discussion disintegrating into accusations of lack of patriotism and un-Americanism.

Of course, it’s not impossible to discuss politics with decent, rational people who happen to think differently. You just have to know how to frame your questions. Robert J. Elisberg has put together a list of 50 questions to ask any Republican, and it’s an impressive list. While you can read the entire list for yourself, I thought I’d highlight a few of my favorite questions:

2) Is the Iraq War is going well?

Uh, certainly it is….if you’re a fan of car bombs, Americans coming home in body bags, and Shiite and Sunnis killing one another because…well, because they apparently have nothing better to do with themselves.

4) For his part in the event, how would you rate the job the President did protecting New Orleans from devastation?

Um…I dunno…but didn’t Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader look damn fine in that Jackson Square photo op?

9) Why do you think they haven’t been able to find anyone who can verify that George Bush ever showed up for National Guard duty in Alabama?

Gee…maybe ‘cuz he never showed up??

15) How do you explain the President’s approval rating going from a high of 90% to the current mid-30%?

When I was an Army Reserve officer we had a word to describe clusterf—-s like Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader: FUBAR. If you don’t know what that means, you ought to.

21) Why isn’t anyone building a wall along the Canadian border?

Because Canadians look like us, dumbass.

31) Are you glad liberals passed such programs as Social Security, Medicare, the Civil Rights Act, women’s suffrage, federal deposit insurance, unemployment compensation, rural electrification, child labor laws, minimum wages and the 40-hour work week?

Hell, yes, I am. And if you’re not, you’ve got problems I can’t BEGIN to help you with.

32) What are the Top Ten best things that conservatives have given to America?

You mean besides the willing suspension of disbelief, religious intolerance, hatred of those who look, think, act, and believe differently, the willingness to fudge the system to support your rich friends, and the belief that Amerika uber Alles isn’t just a good idea- it should be the law??

47) Has the Mission been Accomplished?

Uh…what mission??
