Thank God we can count on the media to demand accountability

How Much Is Too Much: Is the President Too Chunky? His Body Mass Index Puts Him in Overweight Territory, but What Does That Mean?

Aug. 7, 2006 — Last week President Bush underwent his annual physical. It revealed he was in pretty good health, except for one thing. According to his body mass index, he’s overweight. His BMI was 26, putting him in the lower range of the overweight category. He weighs 196 pounds, meaning he has gained 5 pounds since last year and his percentage of body fat has increased to 16.8 percent, which is, overall, pretty good for a man who just turned 60.

Wow. Our kids are being killed in a meaningless war of attrition in Iraq…and the Mainstream Media is about 1) whether or not Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader is getting fat and 2) the 10-year-old murder of a cute White girl. Man, it’s nice to know that the media is holding up their end of the bargain, isn’t it? Especially when you consider that a job in Michigan did what 535 members of Congress wouldn’t do: she ruled that Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader’s NSA spying program is unconstitutional. This is something that should have been the lead story on EVERY newscast. After all, what’s more important to our day to day lives- a cute White girl who’s been dead for 10 years, or our government spying on it’s own citizens?

Then again, the meaningless war against terrorism isn’t going to generate nearly the ratings buzz that anything involving Jon Benet Ramsey is. Talk about pandering to the lowest common denominator….
