Media conservatives leap to lock-step defense of ABC’s 9-11 “docudrama”
ABC Tells Fox That Path to 9/11 ‘Is Based Solely and Completely on the 9/11 Commission Report’
Fox News is running a puff piece promoting ABC’s docudrama Path to 9/11. Former 9/11 Commission Co-Chair Tom Kean — a paid advisor to the film — has been defending its many inaccuracies by saying the film uses fictionalized composites and is based on many sources besides the 9/11 report. But that’s not what ABC is telling Fox. In a segment this afternoon, Fox reported it was told by ABC producers that the film was “based solely and completely on the 9/11 Commission Report.”
Being a Republican means never having to worry about the really messy things…like the truth, f’rinstance. Why should you, when you can convince a television network to air your thinly-veiled propaganda for you…and just a scant two months before Election Day? If it sounds too good to be true, there’s probably a Republican behind it.
If Democrats were trying to air such a thinly-veiled propaganda piece (and hopefully we wouldn’t be), the hue and cry and the beating of breasts would be heard far and wide. Conservatives would be incensed and incredulous that such propaganda is being broadcast by a teleivision network (God—-n Librul Media….). Somehow, though, when the roles are reversed and it’s Republicans doing the propagandizing and the creation of self-serving “facts”…well, that’s just fine.
As ever, it’s not the lies. It’s who’s telling and spreading the lies.

The New York Post summarized Kean’s perspective: “Kean…said he was all right with the made-up scene — even though the video is being peddled to high schools as a teaching aid.”
That ABC and the the Right-wing trolls responsible for airing the propagandistic trash can defend their actions with a straight face should serve as an indication of just how morally and ethically bankrupt these maroons really are. Honesty and decency have nothing to do with anything; it’s all about ideology, and it’s about who wins and who gets shat upon while Conservatives treat our government as if it’s their personal playground.
