So much for independent thinking, eh?

Countdown Exposes The GOP Talking Points On Foley (thanks, Adam!)

There are a few things in life that we can count on- death, taxes, Brad Lidge blowing a save opportunity…and Republican talking heads sticking to the script. Yep, there’s nothing like being able to stick with the party-approved propaganda talking points. Someone else does the dirty work research for you; all you have to do is appear erudite and informed while displaying the proper degree of righteous indignation, and you’re golden…because for Republicans accepting responsibility is verboten. Accepting responsibility doesn’t win elections, which is really what it’s all about. Truth, justice…well, they’re certainly nice concepts, but again, they don’t feed the bulldog.

Listen to the Countdown segment…c’mon, it’s only 2:00 long. Listen and see if you don’t notice, oh, one or two recurring themes. Coincidence? In Republican politics? You know as well as I do that the GOP doesn’t truck in coincidence. It’s about truth controlling information with the persistent and consistent use of propaganda talking points. It’s about winning hearts and minds. It’s about winning elections, and maintaining and building political power. It’s about Republicans keeping their jobs.

Truth? Yeah, that’s for Democrats and losers….
