Another DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener

Kristol On War Critics: ‚Äö√Ñ√≤It’s So Irresponsible That They Can’t Be Quiet For Six Or Nine Months’

DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener #512: William Kristol

[O]n Fox News, Weekly Standard editor William Kristol said that opponents of escalation in Congress are “leap-frogging each other in the degrees of irresponsibility they’re willing to advocate.” Kristol said, “It’s just unbelievable. ‚Äö√Ѭ∂ It’s so irresponsible that they can’t be quiet for six or nine months,” adding, “You really wonder, do they want it to work or not? I really wonder that.”

You know, it’s not easy being an America-hating, terrorist-lovin’ Librul. People think we just sit around in dark, smoky cafes, discussing dialectical materialism and Marxist economic theory while we smoke clove cigarettes. Yeah, right; if only it were that simple. It’s a lot of damn work plotting the violent, bloody demise of the Homeland. Then there’s all of the sneaking around, trying to evade detection, and just generally skulking around back alleys until you get the call over the secret Librul communication system, telling you the time for action has come.

Whatever….

Bill Kristol is one of the biggest reasons the war in Iraq is the world-class catastrof—k it is. With his “loose lips sink ships” philosophy and the attitude that we ought to just let Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader© wage the damn war, Kristol seems to have forgotten that dissent is the highest form of patriotism (apologies to Thomas Jefferson). And while Kristol is perfectly willing to sacrifice the lives of the children of others in the service of Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © , it’s merely an abstract academic exercise to him. None of Kristol’s children or loved ones will be used as IED fodder and returned home in a flag-draped box. He won’t be burying a son or daughter blown up by an enemy they couldn’t see.

Liberals (I will try to speak for them since I am one) do not wish failure upon this country, our men and women in uniform, or Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader &copy. On the contrary, we would like nothing better than to have the war brought to a successful and speedy conclusion. What we do NOT want is to sit idly by as we watch an inept, incompetent President play the tough guy with the lives of our sons and daughters. We’ve been at war for almost four years now, and Iraq is still a catastrof—k.

I can only speak for myself in this respect, but I will not be quiet, not for six or nine months nor any other length of time. I’m angry, and I’m tired of our sons and daughters being sacrificed for a cause that no one can reasonably explain or define…and I don’t think I’m alone in my refusal to be quiet. The war in Iraq is no mere abstract academic exercises. Those bodies returning home in boxes aren’t mere notches on some metaphorical scoresheet; they’re our sons and daughters, and they’re dying in the service of a corrupt and evil President who cares for little save his own legacy.

WE DESERVE BETTER. And so do those soldiers forced to return home in flag-draped boxes. It’s just too bad that a confirmed DUMB@$$ like William Kristol can’t see past his own self-interest.
