Yes, officer, I was wearing my seat belt....

Normally, I’d have a lot to say about last night’s State of the Union speech (Six years later, and Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © is STILL tying the War on Terror © to Iraq? And not a word about New Orleans and the Gulf Coast??). There’s a lot on my mind, and a lot that I want to say, but it’s going to have to wait. I was involved in an automobile accident yesterday, and I feel lucky to have been able to (sort of) walk away. If things had happened, oh, about a half-second later, I’d have been broadsided on my driver-side door. Had that happened, I wouldn’t be writing this, and you wouldn’t be reading it. I’m fortunate to have been left with some soreness and a splitting headache. I feel like I was blindsided by a blitzing linebacker- and I’ve gotta tell you…this feeling was a whole lot more fun when I was playing quarterback and wearing pads.

I’m off work for the next three days, which is just as well, because I’m not thrilled with the idea of driving at the moment. I totalled a company vehicle, and while I’m pretty sore, things could have been a whole lot worse. I rode in the back of an ambulance for the first time (Man, isn’t there any cocktail service on this flight??), which is certainly not an experience I’d care to repeat any time soon. Thankfully, my record of never having spent a night in a hospital bed is still intact.

Perhaps I’ll be back later today if my head and my neck stop hurting so much. Right now I just don’t feel much like thinking very hard. I will say this about the State of the Union speech, though: Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © spent 49 minutes putting lipstick on a pig. When he finished, we were still left with a pig in front of us. Lies, propaganda, and spin still reign supreme.

Man, my brain hurts….
