GOP presidential candidate defends Imus, slams Jackson and Sharpton
WASHINGTON (CNN) — Republican Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee defended embattled radio talk-show host Don Imus during a radio interview Friday, saying that if Imus deserves to be fired, several other talk-show hosts do as well…. “I think if Imus is going to get fired, then there are a number of other people who need to go out the door,” the former Arkansas governor told Radio Iowa in Des Moines. “Rosie’s probably got to go. Bill Maher has to go. Gosh, half of talk radio and television has to go.”
There are times when, as a political candidate, the better part of valor is simply knowing when to shut up. Then again, if political candidates actually heeded their inner censor, I’d have a much more difficult time finding DUMB@$$ AWARD wieners. Politicians being who they are, they all too often think that they actually have something useful and worthwhile to say. The adage “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything” carries absolutely no weight in politics, so DUMB@$$E$ like Mike Huckabee feel they have a free pass to spew their incoherent, dimwitted lunacy as they see fit. This is what makes politics the fodder for The Daily Show that it is.
I remember seeing Huckabee on The Daily Show a few months ago, and at the time I thought he sounded pretty reasonable. Then again, I knew little about him outside of the fact that he’s a former Governor of Arkansas and a Republican. As time has passed, though, and as I’ve begun paying closer attention, I’ve begun to realize what a troglodyte in sheep’s clothing Huckabee truly is. Yep, just another clueless White Conservative who’s convinced that God is a Republican and that Liberals are harbingers of Evil.
And what possible connection do Rosie O’Donnell and Bill Maher have to Don Imus’ racist idiocy? Have O’Donnell or Maher used racial slurs in a cheap, misguided, Neanderthal attempt at humor? Apparently, to Huckabee’s way of thinking, being vocally left of center is a thought crime equivalent to virulent racism.
Man, this is the stuff that DUMB@$$E$ are made of, eh? When you don’t have anything constructive to add to the public discourse, when your primary concern is pushing your own narrow religious agenda, and when all you really care about is your own political self-aggrandizement…yep, you’re a DUMB@$$.
