Another DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener

Boehner chokes up on House floor

John Boehner Breaks Down Again, Weeps Openly On House Floor During Iraq Debate

Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) broke down on the House floor today, sobbing uncontrollably as he urged his colleagues to vote in favor of the $100 billion Iraq war spending bill…. “Members on both sides of the aisle feel differently about our mission in Iraq and our chances of success there,” Boehner said, pausing to compose himself. As he continued, Boehner began to weep openly, crying out: “After 3,000 of our fellow citizens died at the hands of these terrorists, when are we going to stand up and take them on? When are we going to defeat them?”

DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener #588: Rep. John Boehner (R-OH)

Ah, yes, the power of crocodile tears, especially when employed by a Republican. Normally, you’d see this tactic being used by spoiled children, venal spouses, or in this case a Republican Congressman who knows he can’t win an arguments on it’s merit. John Boehner may well be an overly emotional sort, but he certainly has a strange sense of timing, doesn’t he? You’d think he might be talking about our broken health care system, or Social Security, or perhaps even “No Child Left Behind”. After all, those programs and numerous others are sorely hurting and in need of attention. You’d think that Boehner would be throwing his considerable political weight behind reforming and improving these programs that could legitimately make America a better place to be.

Well, if you’d thought that, you’d be wrong- WAY wrong. No, Rep. DUMB@$$ Boehner is shedding his crocodile tears in a brazen effort to secure a victory for Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © and his clusterf—k in Iraq. The reality that ever-increasing numbers of young Americans are dying for nothing seems lost on Boehner…and the rest of his Republican ilk. Boehner is all about maintaining the status quo, one that wastes more young American lives with each passing day…not that Rep. DUMB@$$ Boehner actually cares; he’s at no risk of losing a son or daughter.

Boehner needs to channel his bottled up emotions towards a more worthy end ‚Äö√Ñ√Æ changing the course in Iraq rather than defending the status quo. Despite expressing limited patience and angst over Bush’s Iraq strategy, Boehner has been unable to put principle above party and demand a change in course.

In mid-February Boehner wept as he spoke about the need for a “solemn debate.” He then went to the House floor and proclaimed that escalation opponents were taking the “bait” of al Qaeda and using Iraq to “divide us here at home.”

John Boehner talks a good game, but when you get right down to it, his loyalty is to the GOP. Principle? Please. Doing what’s best for this country? Get real. No, in the end it’s all about party and partisanship; it’s about political power and self-aggrandizement…and if a few fake tears have to be shed in order to make himself look good, so be it.

It’s just too bad that Rep. DUMB@$$ Boehner can’t be bothered to shed a few crocodile tears for those young men and women who have sacrificed their lives for lies and propaganda. While he’s working up a few faux tears for the cameras, yet more young Americans are being buried by their families.

Just as long as someone else is doing the fighting and dying, eh??
