The Flyer Mitt Romney Doesn’t Want The Right To See

Romney Facts

All citizens deserve equal rights, regardless of their sexual preference.

Ah, irony, thou art a fickle wench, eh? Look at the bottom of the flyer, and what do you see but this?: Paid for by the Romney for Governor Committee and the Kerry Murphy Healey Committee. If this isn’t straight from the “Department of Empty Suits and Double Standards”, I don’t know what is. Apparently, this flyer was handed out during the Pride Festival on Boston Common following the 2002 gay Pride Parade. It would appear that former DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener Mitt Romney has spent so much energy pandering to the GOP’s far Right that he’s forgotten who he once was- a Governor of a fairly Liberal state who made every effort to go along in order to get along. Now he’s thrown his lot in with those who seriously believe that being GLBT is a “mental disorder”, and that discrimination against these folks is a perfectly acceptable solution to the perceived problem of an “immoral lifestyle”.

The moral of the story seems to be that all Romney really cares about is getting your vote…and, like John McCain, he’ll do or say ANYTHING that he thinks he has to in order to get it. He’ll be a tolerant, Liberal gubernatorial candidate when it serves his purpose, and he’ll be an intolerant, bigoted, holier-than-thou, far-Right Republican Presidential candidate when it’s to his advantage. So which Mitt Romney is running for President? Whichever one he needs to be.

Is this sort of moral reprobate that Republicans REALLY want to put forward as their party’s standard-bearer in 2008? Or does lying and pandering really seem like par for the course to Republicans…and no real cause for concern?

Do I REALLY need to answer that??
