Another DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener

Police: Mother held child outside window of vehicle

DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener #674: Christina Adams

PINELLAS PARK (Bay News 9) — A Pinellas Park mother remained in jail Thursday afternoon on $5,000 bond after police said she held her 5-year-old son outside of an SUV because he was causing a disturbance. The incident began just before midnight Wednesday on 43rd Street North in Pinellas Park and ended with the arrest of 27-year-old Christina Adams. Witnesses said they watched in shock as Adams at some points forced the child to run beside the car to keep up…. “To hang a child out of a moving vehicle like that is absurd,” witness Victor Concepcion said. “Just holding the baby out of the window and I was like ‘Oh no … no … no.’…. “So I walked out to the end of the street. They stopped the truck. She sets the kid down and grabs the kid’s hand. They start driving away again and the kid’s running, trying to keep up with the vehicle.”

I’ve always found it rather amusing, and frankly extremely quite disturbing, that one needs a license to drive a car, own a business, go fishing, and engage in any number of activities…yet any set of male and female nimrods with functional plumbing can make a baby with no governmental interference or regulation. Surely, I’m not the only one to see the horrible inconsistency in this? No, I’m not about to suggest that government needs to get involved in determining who can have children, but ya gotta wonder, no? When mental and moral midgets are having children, can we reasonably claim to be surprised when these offspring turn out to be on the fast track to a state penitentiary or at the very least a trailer park near you? Or perhaps even a Darwin Award?

If Christina Adams is fit to be a parent, then I’m the Queen of England. Children should be cherished and protected, not treated as a cheap source of entertainment. Having and raising a children really should be a privilege, and yet even I recognize the pitfalls inherent in regulating this sort of thing. Yes, when the state involves itself in determining who is fit to be become a parent, we’re one step away from eugenics. Unfortunately, govenment’s absence from this process means that people who shouldn’t even be allowed to cross the street unsupervised will have babies who begin life behind the eight-ball…and who may never be able to overcome having a pair of functional idiots for parents.

This problem is only compounded when mass quantities of alcohol are added to the equation, as is the case here. As ever, combining alcohol and DUMB@$$E$ is almost always highly entertaining. In this scenario, however, it only serves to increase the potential for injury to an innocent child…who frankly deserves better.

It’s incidents such as this that set me to wondering if perhaps eugenics might not be such a bad idea after all….
