Beloved anti-Nazi pope John Paul II is back, according to Vatican TV. And this time, he is a terrible fire monster! We know about this because we accidentally had CNN Headline News on the other day, with the sound off, for some reason we can no longer remember, and suddenly there’s a terrible picture of the dead pope next to another picture of the Fire Pope. (It was on that douchesack Glenn Beck’s show that nobody has ever intentionally watched.)
Like most of us, I came across this story about a week ago. I promptly proceeded to ignore it, mostly because it seemed supremely silly and fabricated. The Fox News Channel and CNN got ahold it, and before you could say “militant anti-abortionist”, we had a “legitimate news story” on our hands. Jeebus, what a fabricated-out-of-whole-cloth load of crap….
Because a photographer with far too much time on their hands just happend to snap a picture of a bonfire that, at one moment in time, happened to take on the shape of a picture of the late Pope John Paul II…. Well, I suppose we should probably chalk this one up to the Almighty and All-powerful Flying Spaghetti Monster, no? Or perhaps the Church of the Stunning Coincidence?
I would agree that the resemblance of the Evil Flame Being to the picture of John Paul is creepy as Hell. Should this be taken as a Divine Sign that the late Pope is sending us a message from Beyond? Or perhaps it it merely an indication that the man is burning in Hell and wants out, and badly?
I don’t suppose I have to tell you what I think….
