Remember, y'all- there's no crying in politics

If the best Hillary Clinton can come up with is to attack Barack Obama’s speeches and accuse him of plagiarism, should that not be taken as a sign of her increasing desperation? When candidates lash out as she has been, it’s normally a sign that the ship is sinking. Given Obama’s unbeaten streak over the last ten primaries/caucases, it’s beginning to appear that Clinton’s prospects are dwindling daily…and it would appear that Clinton and her backers aren’t going to be good losers- or go out with class and dignity.

Given that just a couple of months ago, the discussion was about Clinton’s “inevitability” as the Democratic nominee, the current state of affairs have got to be a tough pill to swallow. This campaign has really helped to sort out the difference between Clinton and Obama- at least in my mind. Whether he’s been ahead or behind, Obama has maintained a consistent tone and his message has remained unchanged. When he was behind in the delegate count, he didn’t go negative, and he never stooped to personal attacks directed at Clinton. The same cannot be said about her now that she trails in the delegate count and the momentum is clearly against her. Her speeches have taken on an increasing shrill tone that quite frankly smack of desperation. The wheels are coming off the bus, and she seems to have no idea about what she needs to do…so she begins lashing out.

This might be apropos of nothing, but to me it says a lot about which candidate is better prepared and equipped to handle the stress and strain of the Presidency. Clearly, Barack Obama has acquitted himself well, and he’s certainly handled adversity far more ably.

It’s far too early to consider Obama the heir apparent, but I do like his chances….
