Ignorant, insensitive...and built to stay that way

'Wall Street got drunk' says Bush (thanks to Cathy Pearson)

US President George W Bush has explained the credit crunch savaging US financial markets by saying "Wall Street got drunk".... "It got drunk and now it's got a hangover," Mr Bush said at a private political fundraiser in Houston, Texas. Members of the media were not invited and the audience had been asked to turn off their cameras. But somebody recorded the statement on a mobile phone video camera and it was posted on the internet.

On the one hand, the man's got a point. On the other, could Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © POSSIBLY come off as any more insensitive and clueless? This is not a laughing matter; millions of Americans from coast to coast are suffering. People are facing having to choose between food and health care, between food and housing, and in general having to deal with more and more costing more and more. There's nothing funny about this; this is not fuel for lighthearted banter among the rich, well-heeled, and just generally (&^%$#@ clueless. This is reality for millions of Americans.

Of course, when you think about it, The Worst President EVER © was born with a silver foot in his mouth (apologies to the late, great Ann Richards). How could he possibly understand the suffering of a family trying to keep things together on a something-less-than-Presidential salary? The Decider © has never had to figure out to make the mortgage payment while simultaneously somehow feeding and providing medical care for his family...while also putting gasoline in his car so he can get to work and earn the money to do all these things.

When you don't care, it shows...and this latest faux pas clearly demonstrates that Commander Codpiece just doesn't (&^%$#@ care. After all, why should he? He's almost out the door. The next President is the one who's going to spend most of his first term trying to clean up the mess left behind by the worst, most incompetent and venal President in our nation's long history.

If only Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi had the cojones to hold the bastard accountable....
