Missing sex toys raise concerns at HPD property room
The Emperor is gone. So is Cyber Wabbit. Three years after Houston police seized these and hundreds of other sex toys worth $50,000 from the Adult Video Megaplexxx, the devices may be missing from the department's property room. The discovery came to light when a lawyer for the adult-entertainment shop sought to reclaim the 564 items that the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals recently declared legal to sell. After initially telling attorney Richard Kuniansky the sex toys would be returned, Houston police then said they were destroyed.
Jeebus, where to start with this one, eh? No, I may not miss living in Texas, but I still have a deep appreciation for the comedy gold mine the state represents. In this case, given the holier-than-thou that so many in Houston have towards any sex-related business, you'd have to think that someone with access to the HPD property room is giving these sex toys a workout. Well...I suppose as long as that someone's having fun....

Portland Oregon Sucks
My reasons why Austin is better than Portland:
1. cost of living is MUCH better here--- our house here would have cost $550-$600k in Oregon.
2. Though Austin prides itself on being *weird* is does not hold a candle to the weirdos in Portland.
3. Public schools are WAAAAAAAAAAY better in Austin.
4. Traffic in Portland sucks.
5. Rain in Portland sucks.
6. Lack of sunshine in Portland sucks
7. The crackheads/meth/dopers are more numerous in Portland. Huge # of homeless too in Portland.
8. There are more things to do in Austin--- of course, the weather contributes to that.
9. I can think of more reasons but I will stop for now
Hey, Katie...I LOVE AUSTIN. I love it because it's a little island of sanity in a very insane place. So, you won't get any arguments from me. I may take issue with some of the points you make, but in general, I think you're onto something here. I don't compare Austin and Portland, because I enjoy each of these very different places for what each has to offer...and, yes, I DO miss Austin.
