This won't be well-received, but someone needs to say it

I've been keeping this to myself for awhile now, but I've reached the point where I have to get it off my chest. I'll begin by stating for the record that I respect the idea of "one man, one vote", freedom of choice, and all those other wonderful things we celebrate when election time rolls around. Yes, those are good things, but let me be clear: if you seriously believe that John McCain and Sarah Palin are the best choices for this country's future...well, you're an idiot. No, I'm not trying to insult those of y'all who think differently than I do. What I am trying to do is to make the point that McCain is more interested in insulting Obama than in talking about why he's the better choice, and what he would do to right the ship of state that Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © has spent the past eight years sinking. Sarah Palin is an intellectual black hole, but she has proven herself adept at the time-honored Republican campaign tactic fondly known as "fear and smear". She can't- or won't- engage in anything resembling in-depth policy discussions, but she can vilify Barack Obama for "palling around with terrorists". And crowds of foaming-at-the-mouth Republicans ADORE her; that alone should scare the Hell out of rational, lucid Americans of any philosophical orientation.

John McCain and Sarah Palin represent everything that's wrong with American politics today, and their "fear and smear" and thinly-veiled racism should have no place in American politics. Even worse, when confronted with one of their supporters advocating killing Barack Obama...they were silent. Truly, these are two despicable and detestable excuses for human beings. Whatever it takes to win, man...whatever it takes....

WE DESERVE BETTER...not that we're going to realize that in a McCain-Palin Administration. Even worse is the prospect, given McCain's age and health concerns, of a President Sarah Palin. If you think that this is a good thing, how about doing all of us a favor and stay home on Election Day?
