So, you wanna secede??

THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD

(apologies to Keith Olbermann)

Governor Rick Perry (R-TX)

Let's be frank and earnest here. You can be Frank, and I'll be Ernest. Who among us, while losing the game, hasn't been tempted to throw up our hands, take our ball and go home? Sometimes things just don't go our way, and frustration results. You'd be frustrated now too if you were a conservative Republican. A wise man once said, "before you judge a man, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when he gets mad at you, you're already a whole mile away, and you've got his shoes.".... Put yourself in the Republicans' shoes. From their perspective - the ultra-conservative adherents to the current secessionist rhetoric, virtually all of whom are solidly anti-tax, anti-abortion, pro-gun, anti-homosexual, anti-government, and pro-traditional family - let's be honest, these days wouldn't you be fundamentally frustrated too?

OK, so I get it; being a Texas patriot ain't exactly an easy thing these days. Libruls rule the world, there's a black man in the White House, and the God--n Socialists are acting as if they were to the manor born. Used to be a true Texas patriot could just kick ass and take names, but with The Worst President EVER © no longer in the White House, Texans seem to be feeling rather impotent these days. Now, all those problems they were willing to gloss over with a Texan in the White House are suddenly VERY BIG DEALS. With no real influence or power in Washington anymore, what's a Texan to do? Since so many of them seem to live by the mantra, "America: love it or leave it", can we claim to be surprised that so many now want to leave it??

Few Texas politicians are better are reading political trends and claiming them as their own than Governor Rick Perry (it beats coming up with ideas of your own, no?). Though he'll deny it, Governor Goodhair hasn't been above feeding the flames if he thinkd it will have a positive impact on his re-election prospects in 2010. Whether or not Texas actually has the "right" to secede is a matter up for some debate among Constitutional scholars, but that hasn't stopped Perry from playing both ends against the middle.

Jeebus...Rick Perry couldn't lead a pack of hungry Cub Scouts to a Taco Bell....

As we watch the federal government expand before our very eyes, those of us who value freedom are simply sounding the alarm with every means available to us. We cannot stand idly by while the system that has allowed Americans to determine their own destiny and compete on their own merits is dismantled. Instead, we will exercise our First Amendment rights and speak the truth to power until we achieve change that Texans can live with.

Yeah, right; the ONLY thing different now is that there's a Democrat (and...GASP!!...a BLACK MAN) in the White House. That he's attempting to clean up the mess left behind by the incompetence, ineptitude, and criminality of a Texan seems completely lost on Governor Goodhair and his drooling sycophants.

As Keith Olbermann so ably points out, IF Texas secedes, the loser won't be the United States...it will be Texas...to the tune of BILLIONS of dollars. Good luck dealing with that next hurricane, y'all. Oh, and all those military bases? Yeah, you can kiss them and their economic impact goodbye. I could go on, but Olbermann's done the heavy lifting for me.

The idea that Texas could just secede seems to be presented as a threat, but the reality is that most of the rest of the country could care less. You want to secede? Go right ahead. While you're at it, why not take Oklahoma with you? Y'all deserve each other. Ignorant, self-important, self-righteous, intolerant...am I missing anything here?

I'd be willing to take these impotent bleatings a bit more seriously if some of these concerns had been raised during the Reign of Error ©. The reality is that they weren't, and yet the problems that Governor Goodhair and his fellow secessionistas are incensed over were present all during the Bush Administration. Cry me a (&^%$#@ river....

How 'bout y'all just stop your impotent whining and leave already? I'm growing tired of the meaningless chest-thumping and ominous pronouncements. Y'all are really starting to bore me.
