Because talking to our adversaries and advocating for peace really is un-American

THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD

(apologies to Keith Olbermann)

Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK)

Sen. Jim Inhofe said today that President Barack Obama's speech in Cairo was "un-American" because he referred to the war in Iraq as "a war of choice" and didn't criticize Iran for developing a nuclear program. Inhofe, R-Tulsa, also criticized the president for suggesting that torture was conducted at the military prison in Guantanamo, saying, "There has never been a documented case of torture at Guantanamo.".... "I just don't know whose side he's on," Inhofe said of the president.

There's ill-informed. There's ignorant. There's completely and utterly vacant. And then there's Oklahoma Republican Senator James Inhofe, for whom the terms "self-absorbed" and "brain-dead" don't begin to sum up the ignorant partisanship this intellectual flatliner frequently traffics in.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I don't recall Democrats running off at the mouth and questioning George W. Bush's patriotic bona fides when his popularity was in the 60%-70% range...or even later, when he was fair game. Yeah, OK; so Democrats are pussies; I get that. My point, though, is that at least Democrats had the decency to refrain from trafficking in childish insults and questioning the President's patriotism WHILE THAT SAME PRESIDENT WAS STILL OVERSEAS. When does love of country trump cheap partisan posturing? Well, if you're James Inhofe, the answer is clearly...never. Inhofe is a jackass and a media whore who never met a camera he didn't like or a Democrat he couldn't cheaply insult for the thinnest of reasons. That his target happens to be the President, and that said President is in the midst of representing this nation on an overseas trip seems to be completely lost on Sen. DUMB@$$ Inhofe. Then again, Inhofe is to intellectual candlepower what Nadya Suleman is to effective parenting.

Here's something to consider: can you imagine the hue and cry, the weeping and gnashing of teeth if this sort of silliness had been engaged in by a Democratic Senator during The Reign of Error ©? Virtually every member of the Congressional Republican Caucus would have been out for blood...and they might just have had a point. So why is Inhofe not being slow-roasted over an open flame by the Mainstream Media?

Silly wabbit...being a Republican means never having to say you're sorry. Wottadick....
