Things I might be thinking on a Friday...if I actually was thinking

From time to time, I find myself wondering if I'm not living on the set of Idiocracy. Hey, it's a cold, wet, and rainy day here in Portland...what else am I going to do but ponder the fates in my warm, dry home? Without further ado, then, here's what disturbs me today about the state of our (apparently minimal) collective intellectual capacity:

....If your contribution to the world is a blog reviewing French Dip sandwiches, might I suggest that you might want to spend the evening playing in traffic? Clearly, you're lacking some excitement in your life. Trust me, getting a French Dip sandwich on regular white bread is NOT a crime worthy of the death penalty. Michele Bachmann thinking that God's on her side? That might just be.

....If you can show up at a protest rally in watching with a sign that ties health care reform to the Holocaust...well, should you even be allowed to vote? Do y'all not know what "teabagging" actually means? Are you really that stupid and ignorant of history? As if I need to even answer that....

....Why do Comcast employees love their jobs so much? Could it be the free porn and the marijuana brownies in the break room? Inquiring minds want to know.... ;-)

....AstroTurf: it's not just for playing football on anymore!!

....Just in case you're struggling to define "courage", THIS is courage.

....So the GOP finally unveiled a health care reform plan of their very own...one that leaves EVEN MORE Americans uninsured than there are today? Nice work, y'all!! Man, if this is the best you can come up with...talk about the Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight, eh? Yay, leadership!!

....When Jon Stewart does you better than you do you...well, let's just say that Glenn Beck might just want to take a good, long look in the mirror. Yeah, like THAT'S going to happen.

....I believe that the act of giving birth is a beautiful and miraculous thing. That doesn't mean I want to see it live on my laptop, though.

....If Michele Bachmann (or Sarah Palin, for that matter) is the future, do we even really HAVE a future? Or are we really that collectively stupid that we could seriously follow a politician who hasn't had a lucid thought since the Carter Administration? The answer to that question is what truly scares the Hell out of me.

....Why let truth and reality get in the way of a perfectly good conspiracy theory? WE WANT OUT COUNTRY BACK!! You know, being in the minority does not ipso facto mean that you're being oppressed. Get over yourselves, already....
