Today is supposed to be a special day…my 50th birthday. I’ve spent awhile trying to come up with something special to celebrate this milestone, even though I don’t normally get all fired up about my birthdays. Still, I figured that 50, being a milestone, might be worth doing something special for. Unfortunately, for the past four days I’ve found myself dealing with (and now thankfully recovering from) a bout of food poisoning that damn near put me in the hospital. (I’ve been wanting to drop a few pounds…but this is not a method I’d recommend). Instead of celebrating, I’ll likely be spending today in my recliner, watching hockey, listening to the birds outside my window, and pumping myself full of Imodium and electrolytes. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!
This is by no means the celebration I had in mind, but things could be worse, right? The way I figure it, any day still drawing breath is a good one. Besides, this has really all just been a warm up for the next 18, 262 days…. ;-)
