The latest communique from the Digging Our Graves With Our Teeth Department

Though it’s just come to our attention, long before anyone had ever gotten their hands slick with a KFC Double Down, some folks out there were loosening their belts because of the McGangBang — an entire McDonald’s McChicken sandwich that is then sandwiched between the halves of a double cheeseburger. What the McGangBang puts on your waistline — 750 calories, 35g of fat — it makes up for in your wallet, since both sandwiches are on the McDonald’s dollar menu, you’re looking at just over $2 for the whole shebang. Of course, you’ll probably need more than a few sodas to wash it down…

I never cease to marvel at the things we Americans will put in our mouths. If it’s not clearly and obviously poisonous, odds are pretty good that someone will figure out a way to make it something resembling edible…and it will end up all over the Internet in nanoseconds. The latest iteration of our collective desire to dig our graves with our teeth is the McGangBang, a gastronomic train wreck consisting of a McChicken Sandwich inserted into the middle of a double cheeseburger. While the McGangBang isn’t actually on any menu you’ll find at a McDonald’s restaurant, both the McChicken and the double cheeseburger are on the dollar menu…so you can increase your risk of myocardial infarction for mere pennies!

Hmm…750 calories? 35g of fat? I’m thinking it looks like there’s room in there for a fish sandwich and 3-4 slices of bacon. And a trip to Cold Stone Creamery for dessert? Only if I can bring a crash cart and a cardiologist with me.
