Yes, we cave

I’m not certain when it first became apparent that Mitch McConnell had the balls of Democrats in a Mason jar on his desk, but then I suppose Democrats can’t miss what they refuse to use.

When did this country become all about protecting and catering to the interests of the wealthy? When did it become acceptable to hold the unemployed hostage to tax cuts for the top 2% of earners? When did we lose the will and the moral compass to do something besides protecting the interests of millionaires and billionaires?

Even worse, why is it that the American Sheeple continue voting against their interests and by doing so enabling this continuing class warfare? Why do Americans continue to enable Republicans acting in ways that clearly and obviously run counter to the interests of the middle class?

If we are to concede to compromise, why does that compromise mean capitulating to Republicans to the detriment of the vast majority of the American Sheeple? Two years of tax cuts for the rich for one year of unemployment benefits? In whose world is that a fair, equitable, or even reasonable compromise?? And what of the “99ers”, those long-term unemployed who’ve exhausted their benefits? Are they to be left to starve? Do Republicans care about them? Do Democrats?

So much for being willing to draw a line in the sand….
