Lest I forget, allow me to offer a hearty “Happy Father’s Day!” to my readers of the patrilineal persuasion. I will be celebrating the day as I generally do- by not celebrating it. I have no children nor any relationship with my family, and so days like this really only serve to remind me of what I’ve lost or don’t have. This is the path I’ve chosen to travel, so there will be no crying in my coffee. I do hope, though, that those of you who are fathers and/or sons will celebrate today for all the reasons that make it so meaningful, and I hope that you’ll be grateful for what you have…for it really is and should be something very special.
