OK, so a few days ago, I waxed orgasmic…or at least rhapsodic…over the virtues of Shiner Bock, THE. BEST. BEER. ON. THE. PLANET. When I left Hell Texas in late 2007, at that time it was only sold in Texas…at least so far as I knew. I thought that was still the case, but it turns out that I have been something less than correct. Not wrong, mind you…but certainly less than correct. There’s this little thing I like to call “The Internet”, which, as luck would have it, is the modern source of all Wisdom and Knowledge. With a minimum of research on the Internet, I would have discovered that, not only is Shiner Bock available outside of the Great State of Texas, it’s available in Washington State. I can to to Longview, less than an hour north of Portland, and find three places that sell Shiner Bock. It just so happens I have an excuse to go to Longview these days…so guess what I’m seeing in my future?
Now if we just get some decent barbecue, Mexican food, and country music here in Puddletown, life would be virtually perfect. Of course, if I found all those things, I’d probably be in Austin. At least here I don’t have the heat, the humidity, the traffic, or the mosquitoes…. ;-)
