OK, so I get why Conservatives think that Newsweek’s cover was a hit job on Michele Bachmann. While I can’t say whether it was a deliberate attempt to make Bachmann look crazier than a March hare, it’s not like she needs the help. Jeebus, y’all; you couldn’t just allow her another take and/or find a shot that didn’t make her look like the Thorazine had finally worn off?
Bachmann is walking, talking proof that uber-Jesus-y intolerance and a barely functional IQ is no impediment to holding political office. She hardly needs any help looking bat$%!& crazy; she can (and does) do that all by herself. As much it pains me to come down on Bachmann’s side about ANYTHING, I’d have to agree that Newsweek screwed the pooch on this one. They could have allowed Bachmann to hang herself with her own words and epic, stunning ignorance. They could have done that with no effort at all. Unfortunately, whether it was their intent or not, the cover photo looks like a hit job.
Of course, there’s no way ANY reasonable person should even remotely be considering voting for someone so clearly and obviously crazy. If the eyes are the window to the soul, then I’m guessing Bachmann’s rented her soul out to Hannibal Lecter.
